AFR signs MoU on cooperation with Fondazione Farefuturo in Italy

On October 12, 2015, Ambassador Francisco H. L. Ou, chairman of the Association of Foreign Relations (AFR) and former ROC Foreign Minister, visited Rome, Italy to signs a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Mr. Adolfo Urso, chairman of Fondazione Farefuturo and former Italian Deputy Minister of Economic Development.
The MoU seeked to facilitate bilateral exchanges of people engagement and research on topics of mutual concern between the two organizations. 
Chairman Ou delivered a keynote speech the next day for the “International Seminar on the Economic and Financial Doors for Great Asia: Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.” Many high-profile politicians and businessmen attended the meeting held by Fondazione Farefuturo.
Dr. Kwei-bo Huang, AFR secretary-general and Dr. Yu-ning Hwang, economic professor of National Chengchi University, as members of the AFR delegation, presented their relevant research in the seminar. Dr. Emile Chih-jen Sheng, president of L'Hotel de Chine Group shared his views on the foreign investment in Taiwan’s tourism sector.
AFR delegation’s visits to the Taipei Representative Office in Italy and Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Holy See were warmly received respectively by Ambassador Stanley Kao and Ambassador Larry Y. Y. Wang.
Ambassador Camille Zuccoli of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Bulgaria and secretary-general of the Taiwan-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group hosted a dinner at his own house for the AFR delegation as well as Italian who’s who. 
AFR’s visit to Italy in which Chairman Ou met with many Italian opinion leaders laid a deep foundation for future nongovernmental and people-to-people engagement between Taiwan and Italy.
