A symposium on "The Impact of the US Presidential Election on the European Union" was held in the conference room on October 9. Mr. Moreno Bertoldi, former senior EU official/Special Advisor to the leader of the Economic and Financial Group of the Delegation to the United States, and our president Lin Yongle and Ambassador Lu Qinglong , Ambassador Ge Guangyue, Vice President Gao An and Minister Lai Weizhong had in-depth exchanges on this issue.
During the symposium, Mr. Bertoldi introduced the basic situation of the EU one by one, and then touched on the US election, analyzing the pros and cons for the EU if the candidates of the two parties are elected, and mentioned the impact of the US election on cross-strait relations. Participants of this conference also put forward corresponding views. The exchanges between the two parties were so lively that the originally planned two-hour discussion was overdue by about one hour, and I couldn't stop.
